The magical
story of the world’s favourite Nanny is triumphantly and spectacularly brought
to the stage with dazzling choreography, incredible effects and unforgettable
songs. Starring Zizi Strallen, returning to play the title role following great
acclaim on the recent sell-out international tour, Charlie Stemp as Bert, who
recently gave an award-winning performance as Arthur Kipps in Cameron
Mackintosh’s production of Half A Sixpence, Joseph Millson as Mr Banks, Amy
Griffiths as Mrs Banks and the legendary Petula Clark as The Bird Woman.
The stage production of MARY POPPINS is brilliantly adapted from the wonderful
stories by PL Travers and the original film. It is co-created by Cameron
Mackintosh and has a book by Oscar-winning screenwriter and Downton Abbey
creator, Julian Fellowes. With a timeless score by Richard M Sherman and Robert
B Sherman including the classic songs; Jolly Holiday, Step in Time,
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds with new songs and
additional music and lyrics, including Practically Perfect, by the Olivier
award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Charlie Stemp - Bert
Charlie was born in London. After
graduating from Laine Theatre Arts, he made his professional debut in Wicked
(Apollo Victoria Theatre), before playing Eddie in Mamma Mia! (International
tour).
In 2016, he was cast by Cameron Mackintosh to play Arthur Kipps in his
new production of Half a Sixpence at Chichester Festival Theatre. A West End
transfer to the Noël Coward Theatre immediately followed, with Charlie's
breakout starring performance garnering unprecedented critical acclaim.
For his performance, Charlie was nominated for the 2017 Olivier Award for
Best Actor in a Musical, the 2017 Carl Alan Performer's Award, the 2016 UK
Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Musical, and he won the 2017
WhatsOnStage Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Charlie starred as Dick in the Olivier Award-winning Dick Whittington at
the London Palladium, returning to the Palladium one year on as Prince in Snow
White.
He made his Broadway debut as Barnaby Tucker in Hello, Dolly! (Shubert
Theater, New York) opposite Bette Midler and Bernadette Peters. For his
performance, Charlie was awarded the 2018 Theatre World Award for Outstanding
Broadway Debut.
Petula Clark - Bird Woman
Petula became a star in the UK at nine years old, singing for the troops stationed in England during the Second World War. Many years later she moved to France and soon became a European star recording in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. While still living in Paris, English songwriter Tony Hatch presented her with his new composition, ‘Downtown’, which became a worldwide hit and led to a string of top-10 records, winning her two Grammy Awards and making her an international star. She later met with Charlie Chaplin who penned one of her further major hits This Is My Song. She has performed in her own TV shows in the UK, the US and France and has starred in the iconic films Finian’s Rainbow with Fred Astaire and Goodbye Mr Chips with Peter O’Toole. She has been seen on stage in the West End and on Broadway, and has recently finished a triumphant US tour. During her extensive career, spanning eight decades, she sold more than 70 million records. Clark was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1998 and was installed as a Commander of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France in 2012.
